I recently had the pleasure of creating some photographs to commemorate Jameson and Breanne’s anniversary. They are a fun, sarcastic, and easygoing couple. Even though it rained off and on for the first-half of our shoot, they took it in stride and we got some great photos.
We started our photo shoot in south Kitchener where Schneider Creek meets the Grand River.
After about 10 minutes of shooting, the heavens opened up and it started to seriously rain, so we headed for shelter under the Old Mill Road Bridge. I’ve scouted this location before and knew there was some seriously cool graffiti that would add interest to the photos. After the rain cleared, we snapped a few more near the river and then headed to our next location.
At our next location, the sun came out and we got a few minutes of perfect golden light during their shoot. Usually photo shoots don’t get so lucky as to have multiple types of light during our time together, so we took full advantage.
The sun was a quickly ticking countdown clock, so once we took advantage of the golden light we headed to our third and final location of the night to find some birch trees. When we got there, we found even more fantastic light. Breanne, Jameson and I have all played Ultimate Frisbee together, so they didn’t mind when I asked them to run between locations to make sure we could eek out every last bit of sunlight. I think it was worth it.
What started as an iffy, rainy, and potentially rescheduled Friday evening turned out to be a fantastic shoot with lots of variability in the light and in the locations.
Happy Anniversary Breanne and Jameson!
